Traditional Thai dance is popular for its delicate and graceful movements which reflect the kindness and generosity of Thai people. As the hosting country, Thai people will extend our hospitality to welcome all our guests. The test tube in the hand of the Thai dancer signifies "Chemistry", the heart of this event.
The three bubbles denote three elements which must be balanced in our present world: environment, society, and economy. We must apply and expand our knowledge to balance these elements.
The orange color imparts enthusiasm, liveliness, and potentials. In addition, according to Thai belief, orange is the color of Thursday, the birth day of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol. Thailand will host IChO2017 as a part of the celebration for the most auspicious occasion of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol's 60th birthday anniversary.
The blue color discloses wisdom, peace, and discretion. In addition, blue is the color of Friday, the birth day of the late King Bhumibol’s father, His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol of Songkla, after whom Mahidol University is named.
