Press Conference: Thailand to host the 49th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO2017)

On Monday, August 22, 2016, there was a press conference held at the Ministry of Education to announce that Thailand will host the 49th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO2017).

Assoc. Prof. Kamjorn Tatiyakawee M.D., Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Clin. Prof. Udom Kachintorn, President of Mahidol University, Dr. Pornpun Waitayangkoon, President of the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST), and Prof. Charas Suwanwela M.D., Vice President of the Promotion of Academic Olympiad and Development of Science Education Foundation under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra (POSN) hold the joint press conference announcing that the 49th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO2017) will be held during July 6-15, 2017 at Mahidol University, Salaya Campus in Phuttamonthon, Nakhon Pathom. This event will be a part of the celebration for the auspicious occasion of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol's 60th birthday anniversary. H.R.H. Princess Chulabhorn is a Professor of Chemistry who has received international recognition for her scientific accomplishments. In addition, Thai students wiil have an opportunity to show their potentials and exchange knowledge with international friends who are also interested in chemistry. Delegates from over 70 countries around the world are expected to participate in the IChO2017 competition.
